Michelle Barnes was born and raised in Key West, Florida, which many call "Paradise". Her father has an extensive real estate background in investing and construction in the Florida Keys. She was constantly surrounded by blue prints, carpentry tools, and was always willing to pick up a hammer and get in the mix. Growing up in Old Town, Key West, where the style of Victorian meets Bungalow meets traditional Conch, she knew she wanted to stay close to architecture, interior design and real estate.

Michelle has always been drawn to small, family oriented communities, much like Key West, with a very active lifestyle. Lucky for her, the Yampa Valley presented these qualities and welcomed her with open arms. She began doing interior design with a couple of the top local firms and really getting to know another facet of design, Rocky Mountain style.

Michelle has lived in Steamboat Springs for 12 years now and has loved every single second of it. She never skied before she moved here and now can't get enough of the winter sports Steamboat has to offer. Michelle met her husband and they are raising their two daughters with the same love of life they have. Her family is most important to her and she recognizes the commitment to making Steamboat Springs part of your family. Raised in Michigan, my first introduction to Colorado was on a family vacation when I was fifteen years old.. From that moment on I knew that someday I would call Steamboat home. In 1991, with a couple of hundred dollars in my pocket and dreams of Champagne Powder in my head I put everything I owned into my trusty Pontiac 6000 and made the trip West. A perfect day for me in the Valley is a relaxing ride on my horse "Flight" on a crisp fall day or a bluebird morning skiing on Mt Werner. As a realtor, my loyalty lies with each of my clients and the knowledge I've gained in my nearly twenty years in Steamboat enable me to provide, quality, trustworthy service in your search for a home or property in the Yampa Valley. Who is of Greek descent as you may have guessed, was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. As the stress of city life had mounted to an unbearable level and he needed to make a radical change, he discovered Steamboat Springs through business friends and moved here in the spring of 1980 with his family. He knew absolutely nothing of living in the country but was eager to start a brand new life, in every sense of the word. In 1981, he entered the Real Estate field and has since enjoyed every phase of the business. After Elk River Estates and Deer Mountain Estates, he lived in Columbine for over 10 years and enjoyed many aspects of life in the middle of nowhere, and other aspects not so much…

He knows Routt County like the back of his hand, he has sold many houses more than once, as the Country Inn in Hahns Peak, and after 28 years, he is still enthusiastic about Real Estate in Steamboat Springs and the wonderful people he has met over the years.
